| I spent last week in J-bay visiting family and took my uni with (Thanks to Johnny for lending me his seatpost to make this possible). Managed to get some relaxing riding done! 31st Oct Arrived in J-bay after a very pleasant flight from CTP to PE. This was the first time flying with my Uni and for future use... the following instruction will ensure your uni dose not get left behind at the airport: 1. Remove pedals, seat & Seat post. 2. Deflate Tya 3. Use some cable ties to secure the crank to the frame (this stops the wheel from moving around). 4. Put Tya & Frame in old big pillow case It did not take me long to put the uni togeather and get kitted for a mission. Did about 3Ks from my Mom's place to super tubes and back again on the first day. Nothing to special on this ride besides the fresh smell of sea air and beautiful chill time at super tubes (oh yes...super tubes has some nice wooden walk ways to mess around on) 1 Nov Same ride as the 31st, just missioning in a bit more towards town and took a short beach ride between town and supers. 3 Nov I went for breakfast with my sis and her friend (Colette) in town. Afterwards i rode back to the other side of J-bay (about 8ks), stopped often along the way to try out small trials stuff .... very chilled ride in all. 4 Nov Started off the day with Uni Lessons on main beach (sure my sis & her freinds will be riding in no time if they get a uni). ![]() ![]() ![]() Ended up crusing around town after the skate park and rode back home again back to the other side of J-bay (about 8ks). 5 Nov Did the ride to supertubes from my moms place and had the honour of meeting of one the local surfing legends (Bruce). We had a nice long chat and he shared many fond memories of freinds and life. He even tried out the Uni and mounted it first time (holding onto a pole for support) and chill like that for about two mins as we chatted. Apparently one of the pub owners has a Uni but dose not really ride anymore. 6 Nov Woke up early and took a ride along the beach with my sis jogging. It was high tide and i found myself getting a tad frustrated every time i hit a soft spot of sand.... Never the less, it was loads of fun and i really enjoy riding along the waters edge "Uni Surfing" the water as it races up the sand. ![]() ![]() All and all it was great to get away and relax ... As far as riding goes... it was very chilled all the time and i managed to add 2 new skillz to my list of accomplishments .... Riding and Hopping with seat out front. Great times in J-bay with family and friends .... I highly suggest taking your Uni with to J-bay if you ever go ... its a really great way to get around, enjoy and experiance the culture. Take along some spare cash and visit the Factory shops .. cool clothes@ great prices. Peace... Juz |
